2 Timothy 4:3-4: "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths."
2 Peter 2:1-3: " But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves.
Many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of the truth will be maligned; and in their greed they will exploit you with false words; their judgment from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep."
The Shack, I have not personally read the book, but have heard enough Biblical guidance and counseling exposing the problems with this book. Please take a moment to listen to this pastor (shepherd) teaching his flock in regards to this book. This is not a benign matter. We must be alert and watch, because our enemy is prowling seeking whom he may devour. Brothers and sisters please seek the scriptures for truth!

hey brosef! it's josh. i am going to send you that stuff on romans 9 soon. but on the topic of this link you posted, there are outright mistruths and lies concerning the points he enumerates about the shack. i loved the shack, even though there were some teachings and doctrines it prescribed that i do not agree with at all (like the way the pastor right lists point two; i do not agree with this). however, the other points are clear misunderstandings of what the author wrote and some are downright lies (like point 12; i was actually shocked when i read this point because the book makes it clear that there will indeed be hell and it will have people in it). you should read it yourself and see what you think. the book is made to be an ALLEGORY, and does a beautiful job of trying to paint a picture-parable of genuine, intimate relationship with God. it is interesting you posted this though, because this book is a PERFECT illustration of what i talked with you about before, concerning the old testament; namely that the doctrinal problems we find in the shack (and even in this pastor's critique) are the result of both not understanding, and/or neglecting the old testament. you cannot have a full picture of God OR JESUS from the new testament. i love you...so ASHER!! if i am not mistaken that is the name for your little boy; i love it! that is such an awesome name matt. well peace.
